The nurses run their own parallel clinic for wounds, immunization, INR, etc. Excellent nursing care and Nurse Educators (NE) contribute to established programs for Asthma, COPD, CHF, Osteoporosis, well-child visits, Prenatal Clinic within the Family Health Team. Diabetes visits with PA or NP are scheduled in parallel with physicians. The lab is located off the waiting room, and diagnostic imaging at the hospital across the street. Parry Sound boasts a generous compliment of general surgeons, internists, one orthopaedic surgeon, chiropractors, massage therapists, dentists, community mental health services and child, youth and family services.

The Group

Our group functions as a cost sharing Corporation, Rugged Shores Family Health. Each physician entity within the group has its own Corporation. We are nestled in the heart of the gorgeous 30,00 Islands of Georgian Bay. The area is known for outstanding fishing, swimming, boating, kayaking, and canoeing. Multi use trails abound. Several great provincial parks are close by, most notably Killbear Park. Winter activities available: XC skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and snowmobiling. We host the world-renowned annual Festival of the Sound, a summer, 3-week chamber music festival held at our modern Stockey Center for the Performing Arts. This facility also offers many concerts and events throughout the year. Sports leagues (hockey, curling, soccer, baseball, slow pitch, etc…) are available, as are children’s activities and lessons that include dance, swimming, music, art, and figure skating.
